CODE OF CONDUCT (2021)
Nashville Worldwide relies on its Presenters/DJs to maintain certain standards of behaviour and performance to reach the public through its radio broadcasts.
- Members of Nashville Worldwide who take a position as a radio Presenter/DJ are required to be aware of and to understand the following rules always abiding by them.
- In general terms Presenters/DJs shall act in a manner consistent with the mission statement of Nashville Worldwide and shall not act in any way prejudicial to the viability and integrity of Nashville Worldwide. Any breach reported to the station director, may result in the Presenter/DJ being suspended until such time as the matter can be discussed and considered. Serious breaches may result in a permanent removal of the Presenter/DJ, effective immediately.
- Presenters/DJs shall ensure that all shows are respectful and mindful that Nashville Worldwide has a multi-faceted audience. All personal views other than those relating to the music played should be kept off air.
- Please respect the artists whose music you play, ensuring that, at no time, songs or artists are put down, belittled, or criticised in a way that brings the station into disrepute.
- Presenters/DJs shall not, under any circumstances, drink alcohol or take drugs during any shows.
- DJs cannot speak on behalf of the station when on-air or at any other time.
- Presenters/DJs shall respect other Presenters/DJs, shall not engage in physical or provocative acts towards any other Broadcaster, nor shall in any way interfere with the legitimate broadcast of any other Presenter/DJ.
- Presenters/DJs shall fulfil Nashville Worldwide obligations to advertisers, playing 4 minutes of adverts in every hour at 15 and 45 minutes of the hour. At least one jingle should be played in each hour segment.
- Presenters/DJs shall inform the station manager, as soon as possible if they are unable to make their scheduled broadcast. A Presenter/DJ missing two consecutive scheduled broadcasts without good reason will be considered in breach of this code. (Please be considerate to the station and fellow Presenters/DJs by giving good notice.)
- Any messages received during a broadcast shall be noted in full and passed on to the appropriate person as soon as possible.
- Live streams should end at the designated time and not over or under run. Pressing eject on the playing track will eject it with a 2 second fade.
- Please respect the Presenter/DJ who follows you by finishing at the designated time.
- The Presenter/DJ must ensure that they have stopped their live stream.
- All songs played must have the correct meta data tags; artist name, song title, album title, if applicable, (if it is a single put ‘single’ in as the album name). This is required for licensing and breaches of this could result in the station incurring large fines. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the Presenter/DJ being removed from the station permanently.
- Presenters/DJs are expected to advertise their own shows on social media, tagging Nashville Worldwide into the posts. You are requested to use the backgrounds that have been sent to you to give the station a coherent presence.
- Please refrain from using any offensive materials and ensure that any material that is used is copyright free or permission given.
- If training is required, this should be discussed with the station manager and an appropriate time scheduled.
- Please enjoy your show and make it your own.
Please contact the station manager with any issues that may arise in or with your show as soon as possible. The quicker the issue is raised, the quicker it can be resolved.
