I confess I live 30 minutes from this venue and have never heard of it. After a chatDYLAN EARL / WILLI CARLISLE / JUDE BROTHERS
with Willi Carlisle after his amazing acoustic set at Blackdeer Festival, he told us
he was playing a gig alongside other Arkansas musicians Dylan Earl and Jude
Brothers in Sutton London (if Sutton is London we can debate later).

After a few google searches, the gig and venue were located. It appeared that a lot of the
audience were from the festival and like us had discovered one or all three of
the billed performers at the festival.

Jude Brothers kicked off the evening with her beautiful voice, singing songs of
life lived in a folksy style with an Americana twist. A talented musician and
worth seeking out her tunes.

Dylan Earl is a song writing country musician of a more traditional country
vein. His tales are to the point and written with humour. The room was hooked
while he performed his magic during his set.

Willi Carlisle is a multi talented songwriter, poet, musician, folksinger and playwright.

He is a force to be reckoned with, immediately likeable and charming the audience with his humour, storytelling and wins with his musical talent all delivered in his own unique quirky style.

At a number of points during the evening all three acts were on stage pooling their talents together to perform each others material,

DYLAN EARL / WILLI CARLISLE / JUDE BROTHERS

bringing together what was a remarkable and memorable show.

They are still travelling the UK for a few more weeks with additional shows, so catch them if you can.
All this emerging talent from Arkansas Dylan Earl explained to the Blackdeer team, “Our people are largely affected by the land around them, impacted by the natural beauty and ruggedness of our surroundings. These artists have been challenged by the toughness it takes to forge a life here and most came from poor, rural working class backgrounds, deep in Arkansas. Perhaps this is why their music is so inspiring and contagious. Imagine if more of us had made it out to those big city studios…”

I couldn’t agree more, an inspiring group of musicians.
