Festival Reviews

It used to be that we went to lots of smaller gigs throughout the year and some of us still do, myself included, now though festivals are becoming an ever-increasing part of our Country Music life.

Festivals can provide us with a full weekend experience of listening to all the bands we want to, but don’t get the chance to, during our busy weekly schedule; to see the artists we know but also experience new and exciting acts that ordinarily we wouldn’t necessarily choose to go to. Festivals prove to be a fun way to get our fill of all things country.

Festivals

In addition to the music, which is, of course, the

main draw, we also get to camp, drink, eat, be merry and even sing and write songs together! The festival organizers have grown wise to this and now provide us with all that we could want.

Good quality camping grounds are provided, most with more than adequate toilet/shower facilities. Some provide breakfast in with the camping ticket. There is security to ensure everyone’s safety as well as help to pull you out of a field should you need it!

Then to the fun! Bars are set up, selling a host of our favourite tipples and now most are charging reasonable prices; you even get a souvenir cup from some. In addition to all of that, we are now bombarded with a host of foods that in years gone by just wouldn’t have had a look in.

The off-stage entertainment can run from side stalls selling all sorts of country music style merchandise, to full blown funfairs. This is very dependent on the audience, as well as the budget of the organisers.

We review all the festivals we go to so you can get an insight in to what they are really like from a punters point of view.

We hope you like the reviews and if you have any comments on them, please send them to the E-mail address below:
