Stacey Lowery - Haggard and WornWho is Stacey Lowery

Stacey Lowery is a name that has been around the edges of Nashville Country Music for some years. He hails form Lufkin, Texas hitting Nashville some 25 years ago. Although a Nashville touring artist, he still resides in East Texas.

The 25 years in and around Nashville have produced quite a few songs and recently Stacey has remastered his 1990s original tapes to release them on streaming platforms.

Stacy is an artists worth looking into if you want some authentic country with a more old school feel yet with modern production and distribution.

The Song

Stacey Lowery has penned a good old fashioned country song. One that gets your foot tapping and has you singing away. It has the feel of songs written by Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson.

Country music has changed beyond all recognition over the last decade, but Stacey has managed to capture the real feeling of country at its heart.

The song title “Haggard and Worn” says it all. It’s the story of not giving up, not slowing down and even though life has taken it tole on you, you just keep going.

The first verse seems to get every country buzz word into it, not sure if that’s clever writing or a great way to hit all the algorithm search words, either way it works and sets the song up well.

The chorus is well thought out and really sells the song, its weirds that a lot of people can relate to.

The guitar work is good and fits the song well and again, adds to the old school, authentic country feel.

All in all, its a well written song, with an old school feel. It makes you listen and is rather enjoyable.

I would imagine in a live setting, its a song the audience would sing along to happily.
