Brandon Maddox – ‘Cruising Through a Small Town’

Review By Chad J Country (Nashville Worldwide)

Brandon hails from Chattanooga in Tennessee and is no stranger to the spotlight. Having won several prestigious Josie awards, his career just seems to go from strength to strength.

The latest release from Brandon is sure to be a winner too. Combining an old school feel with modern day production, he has turned out a well put together track.

Brandon Maddox – ‘Cruising Through a Small Town’

Titled ‘Cruising Through a Small Town’ the song is relaying the story of returning to the small town you grew up in and how nothing seems to have changed, but in a lovely way. You can feel the warmth in the song as well as the personal experience.

Brandon has summed up a small town perfectly. The description of the buildings that welcome him, to the friends there to greet him. The relaxed attitude of cruising down the main street with the top down, perfectly relays a lazy warm summers day when you have no cares in the world.

Musically the song is faultless, the guitar work is spot on, the melody carries you through the song with a feeling of continuity and the bass line keeps your foot tapping, the vocals delivered from Brandon are akin to George Straits with no harsh edges or sudden pauses and a crisp professional delivery.

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a shake your booty kinda song, but I can see slow dancing and line dancing taking place to the tune.

This is set to be another hit for the now Nashville based artist and quite possibly another Josie award nomination.

‘Cruising Through a Small Town’ has been played on Nashville Worldwide radio and will continue to be played many more times to come.
